
Rosalind G. Chelf-Buckhanan is the daughter of Glen E. Chelf, Sr. (Lorraine Chelf) and Sharon E. Collins, of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born September 20, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She attended public schools in New Mexico. She recently attended her 20th class reunion.
Upon graduation she was employed with US West Communications for 15 and a half years before resigning her position to join her husband in full time ministry in Sierra Vista, Arizona. She always felt God would take care of them and He has. She is currently with Globetrotter Travel as a certified travel agent. She enjoys serving the travel needs and organizing travel for her friends, family, and new clients.
She is married to the Rev. Shawn L. Buckhanan, Pastor of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Sierra Vista, Arizona. She recalls being with him during his licensing ceremony and ordination service and just trusting God that her husband would stay faithful to the call that God placed on his life.
Together they have two handsome boys, Shawn II who is 14 and will be in the 9th grade, and Solomon who is now 11 and will be in the 6th grade. She enjoys motherhood to the fullest and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
She is very active in her church, St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. She serves as the Christian Education Director, Children's Church Director, and is employed in the church office as an Administrative Assistant. She also serves as the Youth Director of the Paradise Baptist State Convention of Arizona, Inc. She is an instructor for the Adult Seminar Division of the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc., Young People's Department.
Her future goals include obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology or Social Work and to devote more time with her husband in the ministry and to her children.
