Success – Success comes from obedience to God not reliance on military power, money, muscle, or mental capacity.

Faith -  Is contingent on trusting God on a daily basis. Based on the past fulfilling of  the promises of God the people developed strong confidence and a belief that God would come through in the future.

Guidance - God's leading of the Children of Israel gave them victory in battle.

Leadership - Joshua was an example of an excellent leader.  His confidence in God's strength, his courageousness in the face of opposition, and his willingness to seek God's advice are an example to us all.

Conquest – The Plan that God had laid out was for the Israelites to conquer and take all the land of Canaan as their own. Israel never finished the job.

CHRIST SEEN:

Christ is seen as our Joshua (Hebrews 4:8), the Captain of our Salvation (Hebrews 2:10) wielding the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God  (Joshua 5:13-15; Ephesians 6:12-18), and leading the New Testament Israel into her inheritance (Hebrews 4; Ephesians 1:3,14).
